After a brief exploration of Judo and Aikido, it is in 1999 that Jiao Lien Philippe Bouchard discovered White Crane Kung Fu at the UQAM sports center. 3 years later, he officially joins the Montreal White Crane Kung Fu Academy, directed by Shifu Lorne Bernard.

Over the years, Mr. Bouchard has helped the schools, notably by helping Shifu Karl H. François when he took over the downtown Montreal academy. Professionally, Mr. Bouchard teaches at college level. He was certified as a kung fu instructor in 2020. He is presently teaching at the Laval and Downtown Montreal academies.
